Tyler Klimas is the founder of Leaf Street Strategies and a former chief regulator of Nevada’s medical and adult-use cannabis marketplace. As the first executive director of Nevada’s cannabis regulatory agency, he spearheaded the state’s transformation into a billion-dollar retail industry. Klimas was also instrumental in founding the Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA), a prominent non-profit organization comprising chief cannabis regulators from the United States, Canada, and Europe. As CANNRA’s president, he expanded the association’s influence, fostering collaboration with federal agencies and members of Congress in Washington, D.C., to shape national cannabis policy. Before his regulatory roles, Klimas worked as a federal lobbyist on Capitol Hill, successfully leading advocacy and public relations strategies for a wide range of clients. He began his career in political campaigns and has held several senior roles for elected officials, leveraging his expertise in policy and governance to drive impactful change.
